my country according to me

My sense of place is shaped by where I've been and if I know people who live there. Middle America? Texas!? Might as well be a big bowl of oatmeal for all I'm concerned! Arkansas? I think of bears and libraries. (Isn't there a library there named after Bill Clinton?)

There's no Magnolia state! You know, home of the Bulldogs, the Golden Eagles, and the [gulp] Fightin' Rebels?

You know, birthplace of Oprah? Home to real cities of Hot Coffee and Yazoo, and the imagined county of Yoknapatawpha?

Sigh. There's a BIG river named after it. BLANK Burning?

Actually, I love the map. The map is awesome. With one small omission . . .

Well I haven't been there, so for all I know the Mini-Apple doesn't exist!
